Encryption

Encryption is the process of encoding or scrambling information in such a way that only authorized people or processes can access it. Encryption used to protect today's information uses complex mathematical calculations and one or more keys to encrypt and decrypt data. Encryption is a fundamental building block to any data protection program, and is often used to protect sensitive information at rest as well as in motion.
